At present, the main ceramic grinding balls on the market are mainly divided into: alumina balls, zirconia balls, silicon carbide, silicon nitride balls and other series, and alumina balls and zirconia balls are the most common. Zirconia balls have high density, high strength, good toughness, and good wear resistance. They are widely used in sand mills and other high-speed grinding machines; but because of their high price, they have not been popularized in the grinding industry. Because of its suitable density, hardness, wear resistance, high corrosion resistance, and moderate price, alumina balls are widely used in low-speed mills such as ball mills and stirring mills.
At present, most of the alumina balls on the market are 92 alumina balls. Compared with zirconia balls, they have low strength and high wear, which limits their use in high-speed grinding machines such as sand mills. Therefore, it is imperative to produce a kind of grinding ball with high wear resistance, high strength, low production cost and satisfying sand mill.
